My hometown newspaper (where I worked for several years as a copyeditor) reported today that the Johnson City (Tennessee) City Commission will vote tonight (March 7) on expanding the downtown Historic Zoning/Conservation Overlay District to better reflect the  buildings that have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Benefits include federal tax credits for improvement projects, increased property values, protection on investment and overall economic benefits.
